ONE person was seriously injured and two others were hurt in a crash between a lorry and a van on the A64 near Stockton-on-the-Forest.
The incident happened at about 2.40pm yesterday at the junction with Barr Lane. The road was closed in both directions for several hours, causing heavy tailbacks.
A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said one person was seriously hurt in the crash, and was taken to York Hospital by ambulance with suspected neck injuries, while two other people were taken to hospital with suspected minor injuries.
Huge queues of traffic formed as the road was blocked in both directions by the crash, before one lane was opened at about 4pm, and the vehicles were not recovered until after 5pm.
