LORRAINE HILES led Thirsk & Sowerby Harriers’ challenge in race four of the Harrogate District Summer Race League.
In the race at East Harlsey, hosted by Swaledale Runners, Hiles, was the first Harrier to finish, coming home in 74th place in a time of 43 minutes 42 seconds.
Nicola Booth was 111th in 47-08, with Steve Booth, 136th in 50-28, Helen Ashworth 144th in 52-06, Fran Jeffery 167th in 55-20, Lyn Jackson 182nd in 61-40, Lisa Brown 183rd in 61-42, Ian Codling 186th in 63-14, Marian Codling 188th in 69-25 and Pat Huck 190th in 70-35.
Meanwhile, 18 club members were among the 210 finishers in the 25th Rainton 10k race. Dan Holdsworth, recovering from a bout of illness, put in a fine performance to finish eighth in 37-39, winning the prize for the first local runner. Stephan Tomaszewski was 19th in 39-05, and Graham Robinson, in a good vein of form, came home 40th and second in the M55 category, clocking in 42-38.
Rob Burn was 45th in 43-09, Les Sutton-Haigh 54th in 44-20, Martyn Coy 69th in 46-24, Nicola Booth 72nd and second F45 in 46-44, Paul Goacher 105th in 49-37, Nik Sutton-Haigh 106th in 49-38, Carol Morrison 132nd in 52-47, and Pat Kirby 139th and first F60 in 53-32.
Alan Harman, was 37th in the inaugural Alnwick Castle Half Marathon in a time of one hour 57-04.
