SO TRANSPORT bosses in York (I presume you mean City of York Council) have applied to introduce a 20mph speed limit on a number of residential streets in the South Bank area (The Press, June 25) with new limits to come into force in late summer.
r It would be interesting to monitor the quality of air in this area, obviously away from the open spaces of Knavesmire, to see if the low speeds make any difference. From past experience with transport bosses, any alteration to an existing system has had endless repercussions in unexpected directions that they did not anticipate.
