A HARROGATE hardware store is offering DIY enthusiasts an opportunity to do their “bit” for charity by handing over their old electric drills in an amnesty next week.
Power tools handed in over the counter at Wrayways in Franklin Mount, between 5.30pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday, will be checked over before being sent to Neema Crafts, which works with vulnerable disabled people in Tanzania.
Donors will be offered a £50 discount on drills in the new Worx range in return.
Neema Crafts was founded In Tanzania by Harrogate couple Susie and Andy Hart to care for disabled people who are abandoned by communities who fail to look after them.
The results of the amnesty will be announced at the Neema Crafts Charity Gala Dinner at Harrogate’s St Aidan’s School on Saturday, July 14.
Tickets for the black tie dinner cost £25 and are available from Susie Hart on 07588 724142 or from The Office, St Mark’s Church, Leeds Road or St Aidan’s School.
