Selby’S newest health centre has opened its doors to customers after the fire which tore through the Abbey Leisure Centre earlier this year.
A weekend of free tours and taster sessions has now been organised to give residents a taste of what is on offer at the council facility, which has been created in the former Walker’s Bingo Club in Portholme Crescent.
Coun Mark Crane, leader of Selby District Council, said: “We have worked hard behind the scenes with our partners to get these new facilities up and running as soon as possible.
“It’s important to us because we know it’s important to our community. We know a great many residents from right across the district were hugely affected by the closure of the Abbey Leisure Centre following the fire.”
The open weekend runs all day today and tomorrow.
