A PAIR of local film-makers have launched their latest project with an event in York.
Tony Hipwell and Miles Watts, whose company Miles Tone Films also made the cult web series Zomblogalypse, are currently in pre-production to start filming their latest feature in August.
Miles said: “York-made films need to aim high and far so that they can entertain not just locals but an international audience and represent York as a centre of excellent filmmaking. Also, who doesn’t love a good serial killer tale, especially when it’s a comedy.”
Whoops! is a black comedy which tells the story of an accidental serial killer, and will be filmed throughout the city this summer, so the makers decided to mark the launch with the release of 1,000 balloons from Exhibition Square.
Anyone who finds a balloon can send in their information to be in with a chance to win a ticket to the premiere, and a copy of the film on DVD.
