A WOMAN was hit in the face by a man who followed her in a car and ordered her to hand over her bag.
The driver was travelling on the B1362 in Burstwick between 11am and 11.15am on Wednesday in an orange Citroen when she noticed a black vehicle behind her with blue flashing lights in its radiator grille, and pulled into layby as she believed it was an emergency vehicle.
The male driver of the car approached the woman’s passenger door, opened it and asked for her bag. When she said she did not have one, he struck her in the face, leaving her bruised and needing hospital treatment, before driving off.
