HOME knowledge proved crucial when the Trilby Tour held their Yorkshire final at Pocklington’s KP Club.
Danny George, Paul Weaver and Richard Daniells, all members of the host club, were among the ten qualifiers who came through a tough test and qualified for the competition’s national finals at Stoke Park in August.
The contest gives amateur golfers the chance to experience what the professionals encounter during tournaments, with play filmed by Sky Sports and watched by more than two million people on television. This was the third time the KP has hosted the Trilby Tour.
Joining the KP trio in the ten qualifiers were Neil Spratt, Keith Richardson, Robert Cotter, Angus Whitelaw, Marc Walters, Paul Faulkner and Carl Powell. The KP will host the event again next year.
