SHERIFF Hutton Bridge posted back-to-back wins in zone ‘A’ of the York & District Junior Cricket Association Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire Under-13s League.
Bridge racked up a seven- wicket win against Woodhouse Grange and then travelled to Heworth for a re-arranged game in which they also claimed the points.
A trio of batsmen – C Heard (32no), Dan Cass (35no) and J Simpson (32no) helped them to a challenging 150-5 at Heworth.
That proved too much for the home team who, despite 33 not out from Will Huffer, closed on 90-3.
In zone ‘B’, York ‘A’ were 17-run winners against neighbours Clifton Alliance.
Alex Liley’s 31 not out and Jack Williams’ 30 not out sped York to 99-3, with Dan Moll the pick of the Alliance bowlers with 1-2.
Williams (2-5) and Max Boswell (2-11) then kept the Alliance batsmen in check as they fell short at 82-6, despite 25 from J Kilvington and 21 from J Butt.
