CAPTAIN Hugo Adams fired York into the last four of the York & District Junior Cricket Association Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire Under-15s President’s Cup.
Adams top-scored with an unbeaten 50 as York posted 123-7 batting first in their quarter-final at Heworth. Darren Harris took 4-11 for the hosts.
Heworth’s batting has been impressive so far this season but, although R Cowley made 30 and Will Huffer 34, they fell just short at 114-7.
In the semi-finals, York will meet Dunnington after they were comfortable winners over Clifton Alliance.
Jack Spofforth struck 52 not out and George Wilson 31 as Dunnington totalled 136-4, before Alliance were skittled for only 63 by George Wilson (2-7) and Alex Wilson (4-7).
The other semi-final will be between Londesborough Park and Selby.
Londesborough Park sped to a ten-wicket win over Malton & Old Malton, overhauling Malt’s 91-4 thanks to James Hanley’s 50 not out and Will Stephenson’s 25 not out.
Malton’s innings was founded on Shaun Harland’s 38.
Selby’s score of 83-7 did not look sufficient against Sheriff Hutton Bridge, but Elliott Precious took 3-13 to add to his score of 25 with the bat and Ben Steward took 3-5 as Bridge were bowled out for 66.
