TRAFFIC was brought to a standstill in Selby this afternoon, following a crash between two vehicles close to the Abbey.
The incident occurred at about 3.15pm between a red Peugeot 406 and a blue Volvo 940, at the junction of Park Street and Station Road.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the road was blocked in both directions until the vehicles were recovered at 4.40pm.
An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene, and one person was taken to York Hospital.
The police spokesman said their injuries were not thought to be serious.
