OLYMPIC inspiration is being taken by a York family who are in training for a triathlon.
Kevin and Sophie Rushby and their children Caitlin, Niall and Maddy will be taking part in the Markel Castle Howard Triathlon next month, part of a series of races where amateurs can race alongside contenders for the London 2010 Games.
They are using the example of Leeds triathlete brothers Alistair and Jonny Brownlee to give them a push ahead of the event on July 22.
Kevin said: “They are a big inspiration in Olympic year – it has been great following their progress and we can’t wait to see them in London.”
This year will be the first time the Rushbys have all taken part as a family. The Castle Howard triathlon is the third in a series of five castle races throughout the summer. Relay teams of three will have the chance to win a £5,000 charity prize donated by insurer Markel UK, the main sponsor.
The local charity partner for the Castle Howard event is York Against Cancer. More information and online application forms are available at castletriathlonseries.co.uk or by phoning 01892 870681.
