IT’S one small step for man – one giant leap of creativity for mankind.
Mint lover Colin Bell has recreated the A-Polo 11 lunar landings, as part of a series of weird and wonderful models using Polos, which are now becoming an internet hit.
The 44-year-old made his first model while experimenting with an app on his iPhone and now makes one or two a week on his car dashboard, while waiting on the school run.
Mr Bell, a business consultant and former video game developer, said: “I always have a packet of Polos somewhere – and so Polo-Man was born.
“Mostly they are made on the dashboard of my car with each one taking only about ten minutes to construct, take and edit. They are as much about the humour as the photograph themselves.”
Nestlé in York, where Polos are made, have now sent Mr Bell a year’s supply of Polos to help keep his hobby going. A spokesman said: “Colin’s Polo-Man is so simple but incredibly effective. When we stumbled upon the facebook page it made us smile and we wanted to show our support.”
Mr Bell, from Widnes in Cheshire, said: “I was worried that they might ask me to stop but instead they have been very supportive.”
