A CLOSING bogey has left York-born European Tour ace Simon Dyson with work to do if he is to make the cut at the Alstom Open de France, writes Steve Carroll.
His dropped shot on the 18th, renowned as one of the toughest finishing holes on the Tour, meant he finished with a one-over-par 72 at Le Golf National GC, on the outskirts of Paris, and fighting for a place in the top 70.
Dyson recorded 15 pars – a bogey on the second and a birdie on the tenth the only variations – before the Malton & Norton GC star finished in disappointing fashion.
Sweden’s Christian Nilsson leads the way with a six-under-par 65.
