This intimate album of covers will be familiar to Macy Gray’s fans, having performed many of these songs live.
Certain handpicked songs, such as Creep, take on an ambient grandeur, as they are stretched out, heavily stylised, and her throaty tones allowed to freewheel to trippy effect.
But these moments aside, there’s little here to equal the mould-breaking material that originally shot her to fame.
