AN ELDERLY pedestrian who was struck by a car on the A19 in York has died from his injuries.
Police are now making a fresh appeal for witnesses to the accident which happened at 3.50pm on Monday, on the A19 outside the Fairfield Manor Hotel in Skelton.
The collision involved a dark grey Ford Focus travelling from the A1237 towards Skelton and the 80-year-old man, from Helmsley, who was crossing the road. The man was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary by air ambulance with serious head injuries but died on Thursday. An inquest will be opened on Monday.
The 76-year-old local man driving the car was not injured in the collision.

At the time of the collision, the victim was wearing a blue top and dark coloured trousers.
