I WAS surprised to read in a recent article that several clubs in the York Senior Cricket League had been involved in disciplinary measures recently.
I cannot condone the fact that aggressive behaviour and the use of foul language has become part of the game of cricket. I am sure that effective measures will be taken against the miscreants. However, it is disappointing that yet again the expulsion of Hemingbrough Cricket Club is mentioned.
It is common knowledge the main reason for their exit was administrative misdemeanours.
Hemingbrough CC has re-established itself in the York Vale League and has been very successful. They also run a thriving junior section and such continued adverse publicity does them discredit.
I am sure that the Senior League will take appropriate action in these latest current cases.
