TWO golfers from the York office of chartered accountants Garbutt & Elliott have thrown down the gauntlet to fellow chartered accountants across the country.
Bob Elliott, son of one of the founders of the firm, and colleague David King have challenged all-comers to try to prevent them winning the Chartered Accountants' Golfing Society A O Miles Cup for an historic third successive time.
The duo have won the national competition a record six times together, including twice in successive years.
Their latest victory came over 36 holes at Moor Park in Hertfordshire when they won by five shots.
Both men are members of Fulford Golf Club in York and Elliott, 66, is the captain-elect of the Chartered Accountants' Golfing Society. King has a handicap of 12.
