YORK golf star Simon Dyson was eyeing another triumph today as he headed into the third round of the Hero Honda Open in India in joint-third position.
The Malton and Norton Golf Club ace was only one shot off the pace at the end of yesterday's second round, having carded a five-under-par 67 to follow his round of 68 on Thursday.
Dyson, a two-time European Tour winner this year, travelled to India to strengthen his placing on the Asian Tour circuit, where he has enjoyed previous success, and he is doing just that at the US$400,000 event at the New Delhi Golf Club.
He nailed an eagle at the par-five first hole and, after a bogey at the 11th, he came in with birdies at the 14th, 16th, 17th and 18th.
India's SSP Chowrasia fired an eagle and five birdies for a seven-under 65 yesterday to take a share of the clubhouse lead on ten-under-par overall along with former winner Vijay Kumar.
Dyson was on nine-under overall alongside Unho Park of Australia, who carded a 65 yesterday Joint first round leader Simon Dunn, from Scotland, crashed to a 77.
