JOINT-LEADERS Clifton and Dringhouses stretched their advantage in the York John Smith's Sunday Pool League, recording 6-2 victories against Mitre and Fossway A' respectively.
Clifton took the first six frames but Mitre hit back with Chris Leaf and Raff Ingriselli winning the last two for Mitre.
Doubles from Alan Horner and Nigel Macdonald helped Dringhouses to their win against a Fossway side who have made an indifferent start to the season.
Carlton Tavern got back to winning ways against Burnholme with a 6-2 victory. Carlton reeled off the last five frames which included two wins each for Dave Waistle and Andy Shepherd.
It ended 4-4 between the two Crystal Palace teams. The B' team were edging the match at 4-3 thanks to a double from Ian Smith but Martin Ackroyd won the last frame for the A' team to secure the draw.
A last-frame win from Gail Mulderrig earned Health Club a draw at Fossway B', whose Kev Boden and Shane Kelly had won both of their games.
Standings (after six games): Clifton 32 pts, Dringhouses 32, Castle Howard Ox 27, Crystal Palace A' 25, Fossway B' 24, Health Club 24, Carlton 23, Fulford Arms 22, Mitre 22, Fossway A' 21, Burnholme 18, Crystal Palace B' 18.
