WIGGINTON scored three goals in five first-half minutes against St Oswald's in League C' of the York Primary Schools Football League - and then added a fourth to wrap up the win.
But things didn't work out quite so well against Yearsley Grove. Aaron Collis scored his seventh goal in three games and Joe Ellerker eventually found a way past the Wigginton 'keeper to make it 2-0 with a consolation goal coming late on.
St Oswald's recovered with a 3-1 win over Poppleton Road, a Luke Pendall double helping them to a first triumph of the season.
Hempland got their maiden victory in League B' with a 2-1 win over Huntington, despite a late Daniel Clipston penalty.
St Wilfrid's and Haxby Road had a tense battle in League D' which was decided by Joe Milner's goal for St Wilfrid's.
But Haxby Road bounced back with a 1-0 win at Fishergate, sub Cameron Ransome scoring the winner and James Kelly having a penalty saved.
In League F', Our Lady's opened up with an impressive 4-2 victory over Appleton Roebuck, who beat fellow villagers Rufforth 2-1 and Elvington 4-0. Matthew Etherington (2), Ben Lister, and Jack Swarbrick scored against Elvington, while Billy Wharton (2) and Steven Arnold netted in a 3-0 victory over Park Grove.
Ralph Butterfield B's recent improvement in League G' came to an end against Bishopthorpe as Tom Burtenshaw (2), Tom Anderson (2), Sean Greenheld, Matthew Riley and an own goal racked up a 7-2 win.
In League A', Ralph Butterfield and Bishopthorpe had a goalless draw.
Two schools went seven up in the first round of the Primary Cup. Yearsley Grove beat New Earswick and Clifton with Rawcliffe Federation put the same number past Woodthorpe.
Clifton Green sneaked past Rufforth 1-0 thanks to a 30-yarder from Lewis Kitchen, and Copmanthorpe also went through with a 1-0 defeat of Badger Hill.
St Lawrence's earned a 2-2 draw with Bishopthorpe, Amin Manesh flicking in a Bailey Simpson cross for one of the St Lawrence's goals. Huntington, who fielded a squad of Year 5s, only lost 1-0 to Acomb.
