BISHOPTHORPE and Clifton Rawcliffe Federation will share the Cade Trophy and represent York in the North Yorkshire finals.
Five six-a-side football school teams battled it out in the finals at Clifton Green and it was soon obvious that the first primary schools silverware of the season would be a tight affair.
The opening games - Bishopthorpe v Clifton Rawcliffe Federation, Hempland v Ralph Butterfield and Clifton v Ralph Butterfield - did not produce a goal.
It was left to Bishopthorpe to rise to the top with a 2-0 win over Westfield, who also went down 3-1 to Hempland.
Ralph Butterfield made it a hat-trick of 0-0 draws when they held Bishopthorpe.
Clifton moved level on points with Bishopthorpe by extinguishing Hempland's hopes with a 2-0 triumph, and Ralph Butterfield finally scored their first goals and secured their first win by beating Westfield 3-1.
As the final games were played, Clifton and Bishopthorpe were dead level, and one of the sides needed to outdo the other to take the trophy.
However, both had 1-0 wins over Westfield and Hempland respectively to finish joint top.
Both schools had qualified for the county finals, so it was decided that the trophy should be shared rather than go to a penalty shoot-out, with Bishopthorpe taking the trophy for the first six months, and Clifton the second.
