EAST Yorkshire’s Ben Pipes is targeting an Olympic medal with Great Britain’s volleyball team.
The 25-year-old, who was born in Beverley, will captain the team at London 2012 and he believes home advantage could spur his 16-strong squad to success.
Pipes made his Great Britain debut in 2006 and has won 76 caps, while also figuring for club sides in Holland, Belgium, Spain and Sweden.
The 6ft 8in tall setter, formerly a member of Beverley Volleyball Club, currently plays for Dutch ‘A’ League side Langhenkel Doetinchem.
