A TEAM of staff at the National Railway Museum will ring in the Olympic celebrations this week, using a selection of 40 station bells from the national collection.
The bells will be rung for three minutes at the museum from 8.12am on Friday, as part of a nationwide celebration involving scores of churches.
Joe Savage, the museum’s interpretation manager, said: “Taking part in this event is a fitting response to the opening of the Olympics from an organisation that has hosted the torch relay.
“We are all really excited about being part of this national project and relish the opportunity to bring objects from our collection back into use.”
