SCHOOL children in Pocklington have done their bit to help launch the Olympics with a round of bell ringing.
Pocklington’s town crier, Geoff Sheasby, started the proceedings off and then the children at Pocklington Montessori School rang their bells as loud possible for three minutes before giving three cheers for the Olympics and Team GB.
The event preceded the national “All The Bells” effort at 8.12am this morning during which people from all over Britain were due to ring bells – from cowbells to doorbells – to express their enthusiasm for the Games.
