YORK City Rowing Club star Tom Ransley and his Great Britain eights crew-mates have been handed a tough Olympic assignment.
The 26-year-old’s crew have been drawn in heat two on the opening day of the London 2012 regatta at Eton Dorney tomorrow.
They line-up with reigning Olympic champions Canada and world champions Germany, who are favourites to take gold, plus the Netherlands.
The first heat comprises Australia, the United States, Ukraine and Poland.
The heat winners will progress straight to the final on Wednesday, August 1, with the other crews returning to the lake on Monday, July 30 to battle it out in the repechage for the chance to compete in the final.
