THE lead actors in York’s Mystery Plays have been running through one of their big scenes in preparation for tomorrow’s opening night.
Ferdinand Kingsley, who plays both Jesus and God, and Graeme Hawley, who plays the Devil, are pictured in front of the ruins of St Mary’s Abbey in Museum Gardens.
Organisers said with only over a day to go to the first performance, about 24,500 tickets had been sold by yesterday afternoon for the Plays, which will be staged throughout August and are set to attract audiences of up to 1,400 each night.
