A Mad Hatter’s tea party at a York nursery raised £127 for the children’s ward at York Hospital .
The Kaleidoscope Day Nursery at St Olave’s School was transformed into Alice’s Wonderland for the event, with tables and chairs decorated with playing cards and hearts while staff, children and families wore fancy dress.
Lisa Egginton, nursery manager, said: “We wanted to support the children’s ward because we wanted to do something for the community that will benefit children and we want to make sure the money goes to help children at their most difficult times of life.”
