YOU can only assume the title of Evanescence's follow-up to smash album Fallen is ironic.
After listening to this commercially cynical pap, they should walk through The Open Door it and come back only when they want to produce music with edge and emotion.
For that was what set Fallen apart from the rest of the goth rock out there.
The raw feeling contained within Amy Lee's powerful and often haunting vocals, combined with the gritty, unrelenting guitar, made us have great hopes for the sequel, but not one new track lives up to Fallen.
It feels very much as if the band sat down to write a Hollywood-style soundtrack for Buffy The Vampire Slayer II, or Charmed.
Frankly their fans deserved much more, so don't reward this laziness.
