TAX rises and cuts are never out of the news, so can anyone please explain to me why the owners of houses of multiple occupancy do not pay any council tax?
There are obviously more people living in these properties than a normal family home, which means more rubbish and use of services etc, so shouldn’t that mean that the landlords should pay more council tax than a normal dwelling, rather than none?
This could be paid by the landlord and recovered by being added onto the individual rents and would put thousands of pounds into the council coffers.
This seems so obvious to me, or am I missing something?
