THE man who died following two collisions on the A19 this week has been named as Roy Mackenzie.
Mr Mackenzie, who was 35 and from Thirsk, was driving on the A19 near Northallerton at about 1.10am on Tuesday, when his black Ford Focus collided with a lorry.
The car left the road, and while he was standing on the road about ten minutes later, Mr Mackenzie was hit by a second lorry, and suffered a serious head injury.
He was taken to James Cook University Hospital, but died later that day. An inquest into Mr Mackenzie’s death was opened and adjourned today, in Northallerton.
North Yorkshire Police have urged anyone who saw either of the incidents, to contact them on 101 or to email richard.parsons@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
