STAFF at a Scarborough store have helped raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) by hosting a second hand book sale in store.
The employees of the Wilkinson store in the Balmoral Centre, Scarborough, sold donated books to raise funds for the service, which is the store’s regional charity of the year, and are still on the lookout for extra books to sell for the charity.
Dave Mason, store manager, said: “We hoped to raise a lot of money when we first started selling the books and the funds have started to come in, but we need some more books to ensure we can raise even more. We are appealing to our loyal customers to donate their second hand books to the store so we can help this worthwhile cause.”
Mandy Drake, head of fundraising at the GNAAS, said: “It’s great to see the team at Wilkinsons involve the whole community to raise so much money for the charity and we are very grateful for all the support they are giving us.
“The drive that this team has is incredible and we’re so glad they chose us as their regional charity of the year.”
