As part of our effort to arrest the suspect, we are appealing to local residents and shop staff to come forward with any sightings of a man matching Claincy’s description or anyone who knows of his whereabouts. ”

He said extra patrols had been put in place and police were doing “everything they could” to locate the suspect.

Claincy is described as white, about 6ft tall, of medium build with short brown hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
