MALTON haulier Ward Bros Transport has beaten national rivals to win a major accolade from supermarket giant ASDA.
The family business won ASDA’s UK Container Carrier of the Year 2013 award for its near 100 per cent success rate in delivering full loads on time.
The firm transported more than 5,300 full loads for the supermarket chain in the last 12 months, an average of 100 loads a week across Britain, of which 98.05 per cent were on time and in full.
Steve Ward, managing director of Ward Bros Transport, said: “For a family-run business to beat the largest players in the industry is a real coup and shows the difference that efficient deliveries can make to a company’s profitability and customer satisfaction.”
Lee Hodgkin, supply chain manager for ASDA, said: “This is a great achievement for Ward Brothers and reflects the great service and commitment they have given over the last year.”
