NORTH Yorkshire Police is recruiting 60 new officers, it has been announced.
Julia Mulligan, the police and crime commissioner for North Yorkshire, is launching a police officer recruitment campaign for approximately 60 vacancies between now and the end of 2014.
The recruitment drive is to make sure numbers remain stable as officers retire or move to other forces, she said.
She said: “I know that people want to see officers on the streets and this campaign will help to make sure that we maximise coverage across North Yorkshire for the next few years.
“The recruitment of high-quality officers is a fundamental part of my central goal to ensure people are safe, that we remain the safest county in England and residents of North Yorkshire feel safe.”
People can log on to northyorkshire.police.uk/pc from 5pm today to May 8 to find the application form.
