Farmers will get the change to hear how rural crime will be tackled in North Yorkshire from the county’s new Police and Crime Commissioner Julia Mulligan.
As part of the NFU’s ongoing rural crime campaign – Give Rural Crime the Boot – North Yorkshire members are being given the chance to meet and quiz Mrs Mulligan who will be the guest speaker at a meeting on Monday, May 13, at 7pm at the Golden Fleece, Thirsk.
“Thanks to our regional campaign on rural crime, we have had the chance to have a reasonable debate with North Yorkshire Police about key issues such as the local Farm Watch scheme,” said County Chairman Mike Wilkinson.
“We are keen to ensure that Mrs Mulligan understands the importance of maintaining and if possible increasing the focus on tackling rural crime.”
