Two men were airlifted to hospital by air ambulance and a third taken to an accident and emergency department by road after a crash on a North Yorkshire road.
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision near Castle Howard to come forward.
A blue BMW driven by a woman collided with a silver Honda Civic at the Coneysthorpe crossroads of the Slingsby to Barton Hill road at 8.35pm yesterday.
Three men in their twenties who were all in the Honda Civic were injured. One with suspected spinal and head injuries together with a second man with serious injuries were taken by Yorkshire Air Ambulance to Hull Royal Infirmary.
The third man, who was also seriously injured, was taken to York Hospital by road by paramedics. He was also believed to be seriously injured.
One of the men had to be rescued from the wreckage of the Civic by firefighters.
Two crews from York Fire Station and a crew from Tadcaster attended the scene.
