BUSINESSES in two Ryedale towns will have the chance to hear about council plans for two new visitor information points when local tourist information centres close in April.
A town-centre firm in both Malton and Helmsley will be invited to become an information point, offering details of local events, attractions and accommodation, under the Ryedale District Council proposals.
The companies will, in return, be promoted in tourism literature and the Visit Ryedale website, with support from council staff.
Briefing meetings will be held next Tuesday at 5pm at Helmsley Arts Centre, and next Thursday at 6pm at Ryedale House in Malton, with more information at ryedale.gov.uk
Details will also be sent to local business groups, and businesses can phone the council’s economy and community manager, Jos Holmes on 01653 600666 extension 240 or email jos.holmes@ryedale.gov.uk
