AN elderly woman was left with a broken tooth and bruised face after she was assaulted in a North Yorkshire town.
The 72-year-old was hit in the face in Northallerton High Street at around 10.40am on Friday, January 3.
It happened between the Argos and Lakeland stores and police now want witnesses to come forward. They are especially keen to hear from either a man or a couple who spoke to the victim after the assault.
A 43-year-old Northallerton man who was arrested in connection with the assault has been released on bail to allow for further police inquiries.
