Helmsley’s second Christmas Tree Festival has been hailed a success for bringing in the crowds and raising £2,700 for good causes.
The event, which was held in Helmsley’s All Saints’ Church from December 6 to December 19, showed off 30 trees individually decorated by different organisations in the town.
It also included a festive trail around the town, a prize draw, and a Big Day of Festive Fun.
About 2,000 people visited the festival over the fortnight and gave £2,700 which will be split between the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity, St Catherine’s Hospice, All Saints’ Church and organisers Helmsley in Business.
Chris Garnett, chairman of Helmsley in Business, said: “It has been great to see that our second Christmas Tree Festival has been so successful.
“We were inundated with visitors across the two weeks, and feedback is that it was enjoyed by locals, but also people from across Yorkshire and even further afield.
“We’re also delighted that the event raised such a lot of money for so many worthy causes.”
