POLICE chiefs have signed a new deal worth £1.25 million, to bring in new IT systems throughout North Yorkshire.
The five year contract worth £1.25m over five years, with British firm Capita Secure Resource Solutions – which also provides systems for all four police forces in the Yorkshire region – will see updated systems for HR, training and duty management.
Deputy Chief Constable Tim Madgwick of North Yorkshire Police said the upgraded data management systems would help create savings throughout the force.
Lucy Bailey, managing director of Capita Secure Resource Solutions, said the new system was a proven platform which was already working for forces across the country while maintaining or improving their frontline services.
She said: “All police forces are facing the pressure to make cuts while at the same time improving efficiency and maintaining front line services.
“This is a tough challenge, but Capita is working closely with its police partners to enable this challenge to be met.”
