TWO support and development charities will merge from next Tuesday.
Ryedale Voluntary Action and Seachange Community Trust will become Coast and Vale Community Action on April 1.
The boards of both organisations say they will be better able to support the development of a voluntary, community and social enterprise sector across Ryedale and Scarborough by pooling resources and expertise.
Mel Bonney-Kane, chief executive of Ryedale Voluntary Action and Seachange Community Trust, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to bring together the major strengths of both charities. In challenging times it is vital we move forward together to provide a high-quality service to the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in the most efficient way possible.”
The head office of Coast and Vale Community Action will be at The Street, in Scarborough, but the organisation will continue to deliver its services from bases in Whitby, Scarborough and Ryedale. To coincide with the merger, the Ryedale base will relocate to Stanley Harrison House on April 23.
