THIS mum-of-three's school run is about to get a lot more luxurious - after she scooped £100,000 on a scratchcard.
Kelly Topping, of Easingwold, thought last Friday would be like any other day when she decided to pick up the £1 game as she walked her 10-year-old, eight-year-old and five year-old to class.
The 31-year-old had chanced her luck on Rainbow cards over the last 12 months but had only ever cashed them in for smaller wins.
However, the full-time mum managed to match three £100,000 symbols and soon realised her life was about to get a lot more comfortable after picking up the lucky card at Easingwold's Co-Op.
Mrs Topping plans to splash the cash on some driving lessons then shell out on an impressive first car from Nissan.
She said: "I never thought I would win as much as this.
"My legs went to jelly when I realised and my heart started pounding.
"I asked my eldest daughter to check it then I stopped a woman in the street to see if I was reading it right.
"Money has always been quite tight and the children always ask if they can have things that we've never been able to afford, but now we can say 'yes'."
The family celebrated with a slap-up meal at the Hungry Horse pub in Skelton, complete with dessert for the children; a luxury their parents can rarely afford.
Mrs Topping added: "I've always wanted to drive but never had the money.
"I've got my own independence now and with the hours my husband works it's going to be great to just go somewhere and not ask others for a lift.
"We haven't got much planned for this Christmas but next year we want to go abroad for the first time and take the kids to Disneyland Paris."
Husband Kevin, 35, a cleaning manager, added: "I got a phone call at work and I didn't believe her.
"It didn't sink in straight away, I woke up the next morning and thought it was all a dream, but when I started talking to people about it I knew it was real."
