CALLERS trying to ring North Yorkshire Police on the 101 non-emergency phone number this morning experienced difficulties getting through.
The force was one of a number across England and Wales to be affected by a technical problem with the line, although the 999 emergency service was unaffected.
A spokeswoman confirmed the force experienced technical issues this morning but said the matter had now been resolved.
The force tweeted: "101 is now back up and running fine. It would appear that the whole of North Yorkshire is ringing it now though!!Time to play #Catchup."
Humberside Police tweeted earlier that the fault lay with 'some kit in Birmingham' which was being worked on.
