POPULAR actress and star of Mrs Brown's Boys, Susie Black spent an afternoon with pupils at West Heslerton Primary School.

Susie, who plays Hilary Nicholson in the BBC comedy, was making a flying visit to Ryedale.

While at the school she took part in lessons and watched a dance performance prepared by the children.

Headteacher, Rachel Wells, said Susie had been very impressed with the pupils who had learned the dance in just eight hours with the help of Malton-based Dance Expression.

"She had a lovely afternoon and commented how well the children did to learn and perform so well after being taught for such a short time," she added.

"The children were not aware that she was a well-known actress so they acted completely as normal but we did find out she is in the new film Nativity 3 so we will be looking out for her in that."
