THE Norton-based charity which provides help to jockeys and racing staff who are down on their luck has launched a campaign for those left homeless by the fatal flat fire in Norton at the weekend.
A number of people lost their homes and two young jockeys lost their lives when fire tore through the accommodation block in Buckrose Court in Church Street, early on Saturday.
As well as helping those who have lost their homes, the charity, which has offices next to the burnt out flats in Norton, hopes to provide funds for the funerals of teenagers Jamie Kyne and Jan Wilson.
If you can help, cheques can be made payable to Racing Welfare, and should be sent to the charity’s office at 5B Commercial Street, Norton, North Yorkshire, YO17 9HX.
