Alfred Joseph Speck known as Joe, served for more than 20 years as a member of the Malton Show Committee, and was made president of the one-day agricultural show in 1993.
He was an arable farmer at Great Barugh, near Kirby Misperton.
North Yorkshire County Councillor Mike Knaggs, who was chairman of the show at the time of Mr Speck’s presidency, said: “He was a wonderful man who always supported the Malton Show, both as a volunteer and financially.”
A funeral service will be held at St Michael’s Church, Malton, on Monday, at 3pm.
