TWO people had a lucky escape when their aircraft had to make an emergency forced landing in a field near the North Yorkshire coast.
The light aircraft, with a pilot and one passenger aboard, was flying from Fishburn, near Sedgefield, to Scarborough, yesterday when it suffered technical difficulties.
The aircraft came down in a field at about 9.40am right by the caravan site at Runswick Bay, near Whitby.
An RAF rescue helicopter from Leconfield was scrambled to the scene along with a coastguard vehicle and the air ambulance.
However, both occupants of the aircraft were uninjured.
