RURAL skills programme LandSkills will announce its £1 million winter training programme at the Great Yorkshire Show next week.

The programme, which is funded by the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) and managed by Lantra the Sector Skills Council, delivers subsidised training and learning activities for the region's agricultural, horticultural and forestry industries.

LandSkills will be at stand 617 at the Great Yorkshire Show from July 13 to 15.

Andy Tordoff, assistant director of environment (rural renaissance and tourism) at Yorkshire Forward said the RDPE, which is jointly funded by Defra and the European Union and managed by Yorkshire Forward, provided support and guidance on a range of rural business needs and requirements.
