HEAVY vehicles have been steaming their way to the 58th Pickering Traction Engine Rally ready for a weekend of events.
It kicked off yesterday with an evening performance by Britain’s Got Talent runner-up, dance act Twist & Pulse.
The rally, which takes place until Sunday at Pickering Showground, is expecting more than 60 steam engines, including Showmans Road Locomotives, Showmans Tractors, ploughing engines, steam rollers and steam wagons.
More than 300 tractors are also expected, as well as vintage cars, classic motorcycles, trucks and heavy haulage vehicles.
The event runs from 9am to 11pm today, with an evening music event starting at 6pm, and from 9am to 5pm on Sunday. Admission costs £10 on the gate for adults for the day and £4 for the evening session. There are also concessions.
